Barbara feldon where is she now
She was basically the straight man to Don Adams. There would be a little sarcasm towards the end of their run, but basically her job was to prop up Maxwell Smart and she did a marvelous job. Other things did not turn out as well. For starters, her marriage to Lucien came to an end in , and, because of Get Smart , she had to face the one downside of her career that she had more or less relocated to California from New York. We both realize now that our marriage had to be falling apart then, or we would never have agreed to such long separations.
In a way, this had made the divorce easier. I had a lot of time out there, by myself, especially when I first moved out. I have almost no interest in acquiring things. Eventually, they own you and they tie you down and I want to be free. Barbara certainly kept busy during the Get Smart years.
On the big screen, in she had uncredited roles in the Caprice and Point Blank , and costarred with Dick Van Dyke in Fitzwilly , about a butler and staff of an aged philanthropist who will do anything they can — legal or not — to help raise funds for her charitable activities. She was playing a version of herself: a beautiful, sensual, highly-intelligent woman with a strong moral compass and a loving heart. Get Smart came to an end in after five seasons and episodes.
In a interview with The Los Angeles Times , Barbara described being free of a series as playtime. Sampling the whole smorgasbord. You know the plateaus in your life when you reach a point where you have to climb into a new era of your life? Another chapter? As a child, I wanted to be a boy.
Tarzan was my idol. I swung from trees and yelled a lot. One thing she was not interested in was another series, particularly given what she felt was the limited vision of those offering her jobs. But can television change? It has been updated with new and additional content. A lifelong love of research ok, nosiness and writing, combined with a loving and supportive family complete with 3 mini-dachshund minions, keeps her busy.
Feldon, enjoyed watching you on Get Smart. I remember seeing you in the audience on the TV! I hooe you are doing well. My Mom, then Ginny Colvin, used to babysit for you when you lived across the street from her on Sunset Drive in Bethel Park - do you remember her?
You also appeared among the guests in one of her wedding photos. She mentioned you every time we saw Get Smart as I was growing up. I liked "Get Smart" when I was young. Recently I purchased the CD's with introductions by you. I am so impressed with your acting. Your careful and well acted gestures are stunning.
Well done! Thank you. I keep missing you in Pittsburgh. I think that we are the only ones left of the old Kings School Road group. I also live alone and I love it too! More from Groovy History. Come On Get Happy!
