What do i need for livid farm
A sick plant has a black stem and a pale pink-to-purple flower. A healthy one has a green stem and a flower that is depending on the type of plant brown, red, green or yellow. To fertilise a patch , click on it. To cure a plant , click on it and then click on the interface that comes up, to choose which of the four possible strains it is. If you choose wrongly, no spell is cast and the interface closes. Click the plant again to reopen the interface and choose a different option.
Identifying the plants The four types of plant grow in four different shapes and have different-coloured flowers. Healthy flowers are obviously easier to tell apart by colour than sick ones, but the four types of sick flowers are of slightly differing shades as well. The same type of plant always grows in a given patch. Once you've identified the flower in a particular patch as being type 1, you know that any time you see a flower there, it's type 1.
This narrows down what type a given plant might be. This is not determined by anything you do or don't do in the previous stage, so don't waste time trying to work out if you can affect what happens. The answer is no. Every round Every round, two sections of the fence need fixing.
First you need wood from the log pile. Left-click takes 1 piece of lunar lumber, or there's a right-click option to take 5. You can take wood at any time.
Then click a piece of lumber to convert it to a lunar fence post. This triggers Plank Make. You can do this at any time too. Finally, click the broken fence to use a fence post on it.
XP and PP are gained only when you mend the fence. Making a fence post and not using it will cost runes without giving the usual Magic XP. You can encourage Pauline in 3 rounds of every 5. You can bunch plants in the other rounds.
When Pauline has her head lowered and is labelled 'Drained Pauline Polaris', she needs encouragement. However, there are no completion bonuses or other reasons to complete every cycle other than maximising your points per minute. You also earn Magic and other experience. The Magic XP is the same as you would earn with a normal Lunar spell with the same cost in runes , however you earn additional XP in other skills as well, depending on the activity.
Players without the required Magic level to cast all the spells can still participate in Livid Farming, but doing so earns no Magic XP for that activity and half the normal produce points of the activity fertilising earns 10 points instead of 20, depositing a bundle earns 60 points, and so forth.
If you do not have the Magic level to do a particular action, it may be worthwhile to use a Magic potion or Vecna skull to boost yourself to the required level. You may check the possible awards for your levels by right clicking Pauline and selecting rewards, then selecting the tab Tasks. This tab will show if you will gain Magic XP or not as well as produce points earned. Since a recent update [ source needed ] , no distraction runes are refunded, but do reward produce.
Because of this, it is advised to bring as many as possible of the following runes:. Entering the Livid Farm for the first time can be intimidating. The other players will be very busy with no time to chat.
However, since there is no completion bonus, there is no reason not to take your time while you are getting to grips with the activity. Looking around will show you the rows of Livid plants. There will be three empty plots and three sick livids among the healthy ones. Further examination of the farm will always show two fence sections that need fixing along with a place to get lumber from and will sometimes show livids in a bin ready for stringing when there are no livids in the bin, Pauline needs "encouraging" instead.
Every 60 seconds Pauline will reset the game and the empty plots and the sick livids will change position, and new sections of fence will need repair. Almost all activities within the Livid Farm are left-click, and hovering the mouse will always show if a left click activity is possible. The simplest activity is fertilising an empty plot that takes only a single click, however all the activities can be completed in two or three clicks.
If you attempt an activity and fail for instance, encouraging Pauline when she does not require it , you will not waste any runes. It does not matter if you start an activity in one cycle and complete it in the next except in the case of curing a sick livid, where because they have all changed, you will be unable to cure your chosen and now non-sick livid.
If you have only the minimum magic level required to enter the farm, only curing the sick livids will earn you full product points and Magic XP. However all activities can be undertaken for reduced benefits. There are a number of activities that need to be done around the farm that earn produce points. If you do not have the required Magic level the produce points earned will be halved. The maximum produce points that can be harvested is ,; going above this will give you a message to spend some points.
A Livid farm point enhancer will allow the player to gain produce points at 1. Each activity also provides experience in magic and one other skill. Players who do not have the required magic level to cast a spell do not earn any Magic experience, but will earn the full Farming, Construction, Crafting, or Agility component of the activity.
Due to the fact that the only elemental runes used routinely on the Livid Farm are water and earth runes, equipping a mud battlestaff to provide an infinite supply of both will make spellcasting cheaper overall. A staff of earth alone may be a sensible compromise if this is not possible, due to water runes only being used in one spell.
The "Loss Per XP" figures in the following table is based on a specific task's total exp - i. However, the "Loss Per xp without magic level" figures are useful in two cases - if you do not have the Magic level to earn Magic XP, and if you want to ignore the Magic XP gained in order to compare just the cost of gaining the secondary skill XP. New players will often waste lots of time at guessing the right shape of a diseased Livid. With some exercise, however, a player can easily identify a diseased Livid.
An interface will open over your inventory window, pick the diseased Livid that matches. Picking the wrong option does not consume runes. Each round allows the player to perform 3 plant cures, 3 soil fertilisation, and 2 fence repairs, and either to encourage Pauline or to bundle 10 livid plants into 2 bunches of five.
Every cycle follows the same pattern, allowing the player to encourage Pauline on the first, second, and fourth rounds, and to bundle livids on the third and fifth rounds. Presuming the maximum activities per cycle, the following is a calculation of experience per hour in each skill:. Assuming the player starts the Livid Farm with at least 91 Magic or lower with boosts being used when necessary to gain full experience , by the time they have unlocked the final spell, Borrowed Power , with , produce points, they can expect to have earned not including distractions :.
While helping Pauline out along the farm, a number of distractions may occur. Dealing with these distractions are completely optional and reward the standard Magic XP and produce points upon completion plus you get back the runes you cast, with the exception of losing a single death rune. If you chose the wrong options, you lose all the rune rewards. Note that with the corresponding Elite tasks complete, the Lumbridge ring and Ardougne cape are faster for getting to their respective herb patches than Teleport to North Ardougne and Teleport to South Falador.
Borrowed Power allows you to cast certain spells from different spellbooks while the Lunar spellbook is activated. This spell requires an Arcane capacitor necklace, obtainable by spending Produce points at Pauline. In addition, the necklace must be charged with runes for the desired spell to cast, and elemental staves may NOT be used to save runes. One necklace can only hold and use charges of a spell before being destroyed.
Due to the high cost, it is almost never worth it to cast Borrowed Power. After unlocking Borrowed Power, your Produce points will be reduced by , and you will be able to continue collecting Produce points to earn Wishes. Wishes are generally NOT worth getting. The only reason you would want to get them is if you plan on staying at the Livid farm for XP after having unlocked all the spells.
The most notable Wishes are: Arcane capacitor necklace - 18, Produce points: required to cast Borrowed Power. New Patch - 18, Produce points: Creates a single use Allotment patch. More Planks - 18, Produce points: Small chance to receive extra noted planks when casting Plank Make, for 20 minutes.
Reduce burned fish - 18, Produce points: Lower chance of burning fish for 30 minutes. Protect a patch - 37, Produce points: Protects a Tree or Fruit tree patch from disease 10 times. So you think you know how to Livid Farm?
Think again. Do you know these tactics and secrets about this activity? The first thing you need to know about Livid farm is that the apparent randomness is an illusion. There is almost no randomness in this activity. These are the 5 states of Livid Farm. The farm will always cycle through these 5 states, in consecutive order.
If you memorize this or just have a page of notes in front of you , you will know exactly where you need to be during the next round, before the round even starts.
This allows you to minimize the time you spend running around looking for where to go next, allowing you to finish each round faster and have more "idle" time.
When Encouraging Pauline, the set of options you can choose from are random, but the position of the choices do not change. It may be helpful to only focus on the first word of each option and memorise what key to press based on that. For example, press 1 if you see "Come," press 3 if you see "You're," and so on.
When casting Cure Plant, instead of identifying each Livid by appearance, look at their position to know which strain the Livid is.
It is easy to memorise the matchups between position of the livid and which strain it is, but when you are getting started, it may be helpful to put number codes in your notes. Change the positions of your interfaces in order to see as much of the livid farm as possible. Note that you can separate the Cure Plant interface from your inventory as shown in the above image , by simply dragging out the icon while your interface positions are not locked.
When doing an action in Runescape, there is often a delay before you can do another action. Cure Plant and Fertile Soil all take 3 game ticks 1. However, there are some actions you can do on the Livid Farm where the animation is actually longer than the time required to finish the action. This is called Animation Lag, and the good thing is, you can get around this form of lag because it is only visual.
This is done by interrupting the action with another action that does not have animation lag. In Livid Farm, Plank Make, fixing fences, and Encouraging Pauline all have a longer animation than how long the action actually takes. Casting String Jewellery to bundle 5 Livid has zero lag, and is a good way to cancel animation lag.
If you do not have any Livid to bundle in your inventory, The abilities Anticipation and Freedom can be used to cancel animation lag. The easiest way to cancel animation lag from Encouraging Pauline is to immediately cast Fertile Soil. The ability Escape can be useful to cancel animation lag from fixing fences, but be aware that Escape takes 1.
Using Escape is faster movement than running normally though. Using Escape on the northwest fence puts you in perfect range of the Livid plants, allowing you to cast spells on any of them without further movement. Using Escape on the northeast fence puts you right next to the cart for depositing bundled Livid plants. Do not waste your "idle" time by standing around and doing nothing.
The time lapse between Livid Farm rounds is annoying - the delays are too long and too frequent to just stand around waiting, but too short to leave and do anything else. However, there is one skill that can be trained at almost any location: Fletching. You can bring supplies to make bolts or arrows, then fletch them while you wait for the next round.
It is actually possible to teleport to Lunar bank, grab an inventory of logs, and run back to the Livid Farm before the Farm proceeds to the next round. You can then firemake those logs, or even firemake while running to the Farm.
This is quite difficult and annoying to do though.
