Assigning an Incomplete requires mutual agreement between the student and instructor, outlined in a contract or written agreement that contains the following: a description of the work to be completed, a deadline for its completion, and a standard grade that will be earned if the deadline is not met.

The student is responsible for understanding the terms of the contract. The student cannot be required to register again for the Incomplete course graded or audit during the term of the Incomplete.

At the end of the contract date, the Incomplete will convert to a standard grade as determined by the terms of the contract. It will always be possible for a student to earn a 4. To compute GPA, first find the total grade points for each class by multiplying the points for the grade times the credits for the class.
