How does uncle ben die in spider man

When Peter first acquires his powers, he uses them to be a wrestler and a performer in television specials. One night he lets a burglar at the television studio get away, insisting that he's tired of doing things for other people and that he's only going to look out for himself.

The burglar later breaks into the Parkers' home and kills Uncle Ben , teaching Peter the valuable lesson that with great power comes great responsibility. The issue concludes a storyline that had been running through several issues where Spider-Man's foe Mysterio is revealed to be secretly running the nursing home where Peter's Aunt May lives.

Unbeknownst to anyone, Mysterio is also working with the burglar who killed Uncle Ben, and over the course of several issues they allude to the fact that they need something from May's house that will make them rich. After faking May's death and sapping Spider-Man of his powers, it is revealed that the two are after a treasure that has been buried beneath the Parkers' home. He enters a wrestling match, in order to win enough money to buy a car, which he hopes will impress his classmate and neighbour, Mary-Jane Watson.

But once the match is over, the promoter refuses to pay Peter in full. In turn, when the promotor is robbed, Peter refuses to step in and stop the thief — seeing it as a justifiable outcome to the situation.

Allowing the thief to escape seems like a trivial matter to Peter, but it has larger ramifications than he could predict. Ben dies because Peter chooses not to take responsibility. He believes the promotor has wronged him, and therefore deserves everything he gets. Only when Uncle Ben dies, does Peter realise the ramifications of his actions. As he takes his first steps towards becoming a super hero, it is the death of Uncle Ben that motivates him to do better.

When he comes to make a purchase, he is a little short on money and has a disagreement with the store owner who refuses to waive the difference in price. The store owner is then robbed at gunpoint by a man posing as a customer. Peter witness the robbery, but chooses to do nothing to stop it. The armed robber leaves the store and heads into the street.

Ben dies because Peter fails to act. The incident mirrors the one played out in Amazing Fantasy issue 15, as well as the one depicted in Spider-Man As a super human, Peter can do things that ordinary people cannot do. Having power is a privilege and it should not be taken for granted.

In the comics and in two live-action Spider-Man movies, Uncle Ben dies to reinforce the importance of helping those in need. One night Ben drives Peter to the library and talks with Peter about his changing behavior. Losing his temper during Ben's speech, Peter tells him to stop pretending like he's his father. Later that night, Ben is apparently shot by a carjacker whose accomplice, Dennis Carradine, Peter refused to stop when cheated out of his money by the man Carradine robbed.

Peter is haunted by the fact that he could have stopped Carradine and saved his uncle. During the time where Peter was contemplating giving up his alter-ego Peter sees in a flashback a physical representation of Uncle Ben, encouraging Peter to continue on as Spider-Man. Peter also later admits the truth surrounding Uncle Ben's death to Aunt May. She is shocked and upset upon first hearing it walking away silently from Peter. However, she later commends Peter for telling her the truth, describing it as a brave move.

Or, you know, he could see Ben's return as even more of a reason to continue being Spider-Man. One of the Spider-Man: Homecoming writers previously mentioned almost including a scene in that movie where Aunt May referenced Uncle Ben directly.

It was when Peter was getting ready for homecoming and the wardrobe she gave him to wear was all Uncle Ben's clothes. But the writers scrapped the idea because it veered from Peter's arc and they figured if you're going to talk about someone's death, don't make it so casual.

So we're basically back to square one now, with Uncle Ben potentially not even being dead in the MCU. And, with a third installment definitely on the way , Jon Watts's tenure as a Spider-Man director isn't over and neither is the possibility that Ben will get a full shout-out in the MCU.
